Development on temporary hold!

Hi all -

My apologies for the lack of any Pathogen-X updates these last several months! We have found ourselves getting consistently tied up in many personal and work-related matters.

I've been busy working trying to get my solo project out the door (Hypnagogia 2) as well as with office work (full-time job). My programmer is mostly also in the same situation. But fear not!

We promise to pick this project back up in full force some time after the holidays. This is something we're both very passionate about putting the work in for and ultimately making something that sets itself apart from other games of a similar genre. We've been talking about the possibility of making a Kickstarter page as well, once we get a good bit of development done and have a nice vertical slice to show.

I know there are many people who followed us after playing the Arcade Mode demo and have been expecting some follow-up to that, so don't worry. Thank you for any and all understanding as we take our time getting things properly set up for the future.

Cheers,

sodaraptor

TL;DR: Pathogen-X development is on hold but will assuredly continue after the holidays.

Hi fox -

Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately Pathogen-X is on permanent hiatus. It may or may not return in the future, but right now it's uncertain.

Don't do that bruh, this game is a W. Btw, What if it's Chris under that gasmask? Also the codename of "Hawk" is a cool ass reference to not just Snake but also "Hunk" of the RE series. Was the game planned to get any more story written or even voiceover?

Did development ever resume?

Hi nerem-

Not in any meaningful way. Once we saw the reception to our jam game Covert Critter, we've decided to focus our attention on that at this time. Pathogen-X will remain on hold for the foreseeable future or until Covert Critter is completed sometime next year.

That's fair. Let's hope Covert Critter goes well!

I can't blame you for putting the project on hold until after Christmas 2021. Good games take time, and although there are quite a fair number of exceptions to the rule (Notably Duke Nukem Forever), A game postponed is definitely better than a rushed one.

TL;DR: You rock, and your fans are patient souls. Take the time you need to be super awesome.
